axiomatic creature? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-06-06, 03:15 AM In the Book of Exalted Deeds it list the spell axiomatic creature, and lists as being accessible to cleric 8, sor/wiz 8 level wise. Now the question is multiple part,

#1- if a PC casts this spell upon a fellow teammate or themselves do they now suffer a Level Adjustment for adding a template to themselves? (like contracting Lycanthropy or Vampirism)

#2- whether yes or no, is the spell dispellable or subject to disjunction?

#3- if so, do they lose the level adjustment or does the effects return later?

#4- how can this spell be made permanent in that its innate if possible?

#5- if a character is subjected to a transformation effect or curse by a deity is that character now naturaly that form as in immune to dispel/wish/disjunction etc.? (if deities can do that) or can they undo the effect w/ normal means, making it just a divine version of polymorph any object?

Can in the end it be argued, referring to the first question, that access to the spell as the class, justifies it like casting miracle or wish and experience burn/material costs make up for its benefits?

01-06-06, 07:05 AM 1. No the spell does not incurr level adjustment penalties. The caster already pays a thousand XP to just cast the spell.
2. The duration of the spell is permanent. That means the effect is dispellable, subject to disjunction and will be surpressed in an antimagic field.
3. if it would incurr LA it would be logical that the LA would go away with the beneficial effect.
4. The spell is already of duration: permanent
5. I'm not sure I understand the question. The subject of the spell is subjected to a transformation, what kind do you mean? Polymorph?

#4-can a PC gain the benefits of axiomatic creature in any way that would make it immune to dispelling, antimagic and the rest?
for instance its a template in the Manual of the PLanes, but I saw a LA of something like +3 to +4 somewhere. How is it that the template is LA +2 or more, but the spell permanent is nothing?

#5- how can a deity transform a creature so as to give it a new true form, immune to dispelling, antimagic, disjunction, etc.?
