| wizard of Newfoundland03-02-06, 07:12 PM | My friends and I recently "aquired" :shifty: a sailing ship but we don't want to pay 20 people to row it for us (and I don't want dirty commeners eating my food, sleeping in my beds, and touching my stuff.) By what means do you think we could get the boat to effectivly move itself. I've thought of two but I don't think they would work: Have 20 oars enchanted with animated object (but I don't want to pay for 20 permancy spells) Have a magic item that provides a permanet unseen hoard (but with a Strenght score of 2 each to move a ship I don't think so.) |

They can't watch out for rocks, sand bars, or approaching kraken. *If you can't afford it, then you probably can't afford the ship in the first place. It's like a poor person winning a brand new expensive car. Sure, they can afford to put gas in it, but they can't afford the plates or the insurance. Soo... if you can't afford the permanencies, then consider permanently docking the ship and turning it into a landlocked houseboat. :P |

| tarkin03-03-06, 12:41 PM | Yes. Anytime a boat entered the non-moving location of the gust of wind, the sails would fill and it would push the boat out of the way. I can't however see it being attached to an object which you put behind the sails. |
