Hi guys I am looking for a spell or set of spells that can increase the amount of cargo my little sloop can carry. I was looking for something that can increase the cargo capacity magically since physically it is already a masterworked templteded ship. I am open for any suggestion magic items, spells, or combination of effects.

get a few portable holes, each can hold an additional 282 cubit feet of cargo of any weight, just make sure not put any bags of holding in there.

thanks, but i feel that the portable holes go slightly against the theme of the game I am in thats why I was looking for bag of holding effects on other items, or on an enitre cargo hold. Something a bit more flavored to a merchant/pirate ship. Any suggestions how to mod or make new spells that do similar things like bag of holding or portable hole that can be part of a ships architecture?

Hmm...something that makes the objects levitate, then anchor them at the ship.

I like the idea of your cargo hold being magically crafted to do one of three things. Both aspects use the concept of a cargo bay of holding:

Empty Hold:
This cargo bay reduces the weight of any cargo you carry. Although the bay can only contain as much cargo as will normally fit in the space, this type of bay allows the ship to treat as if its encumbrance were only 1/20th of the actual weight of the cargo.
Spells: floating disk, secret chest.
Price: 25 gp / cubic foot

Bottomless Hold: This cargo bay reduces the size of the cargo as it is placed within the bay. Although the ship is still encumbered by the weight of the bay, it can fit 20 times as much cargo-by-volume as would normally fit.
Spells: shrink item, secret chest.
Price: 25 gp / cubic foot

Cargo Bay of Holding: This cargo bay acts similarly to a bag of holding. Not only can the bay hold 20 times more cargo than would normally fit in the bay, but this cargo is also treated as if it weighed 1/20th of its normal weight.
Spells: floating disk, shrink item, secret chest.
Price: 50 gp / cubic foot

Prices were derived from the bag of holding average of 49gp/cubic foot.

hm... thanks so much those are great ideas for magical shipwrights, any other suggestions to improve functionality of the cargo hold? or other aspects of the ship? in the spirit of non-dimentional space? and can this spells be used in any other area other then a cargo hold per your design.

Are you trying to improve functionality, or are you trying to simply increase cargo? If the latter, I'm all out of ideas. I don't normally try to invent multiple wheels for the same axle. :P

If the former: a series of floating disks arranged in a "conveyor belt" layout that speeds loading
illusions to make your cargo appear as something else if boarded
line the walls with planters and use entangle to secure the cargo
a pump of control water to more efficiently eliminate water from the hold

The A&E Guide has a number of magical enhancements for sails and hulls. Items that produce food and water might be usefull.

Also extradimensional holds would be useless if you wanted to transport livestock or living beings as they tend to have very limited air supplies.

My immediate thought was: portable hole + ship + sunken wreck.

After re-reading the item description though I can't help but think that portable hole is a bad name for this item.

Portable Pit would be a more accurate title as you can't actually go through a portable hole only in to it.

thanks for the feed back as for the having livestock and passangers the cargo hold was ment for dry goods and supplies not for crew members, I was thinking of using something akin to the spell that creates a portable mansion i think it might be a 7-8th level spell as a deck of sorts.

As Pindar alluded to, the A&EG has a Nondimensional Trunk, designed to do just that. It will hold anything with dimensions of less than 10' in all directions, up to 2 tons.

thanks, i had seen that one a whle back, and thought about it, but this concept that Seeker95 gave me is scalable to the type of ship size.
