I know I cannot put a bag of holding into a portable hole, or vice versa, but Can I put a bag of holding in a bag of holding? If so can I open it inside one, or have to take it out to open it?

Can I put a bag of holding in a bag of holding? From the 3.0 FAQ (applicable since the wording for these items has not changed):
"Putting one bag of holding within another is just like putting the bag into a portable hole."

From the Rules of the Game (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20051101a):
"One bag of holding can be placed safely inside another"

Note that they contradict each other (even though they were both actually written by the same person). I recommend asking your DM.

If you put one Bag of Holding into another, nothing special happens, but that Bag of Holding's weight counts towards the one you just put it into.

Dm said I could, but I like to stick to the rules as much as possible. Thats why I was checking. So far, one says maybe, other says yes. I could not find anything about bags of holding for that question, other then the comments about portable holes.

The most recent ruling trumps an older ruling. Any ruling for 3.0 is trumped by any ruling made since then. You *can* put a bag of holding into a bag of holding in 3.5, as per the Rules of the Game article.

The most recent ruling trumps an older ruling. Any ruling for 3.0 is trumped by any ruling made since then.I generally agree, but someone could also view that the FAQ is more official (and thus trumps) the RotG, and that the RotG is more prone to mistakes than the FAQ's.

This is mostly a moot point, since it's the same person that made both the rulings (and so going with his most recent one seems reasonable unless it's completely obvious that he wasn't paying attention to his latest ruling).

However, if I learned that bags of holding could not be safely put into one another in AD&D 2nd ed, I would actually switch to that ruling.
