For baleful utterance, I am unclear on something. If I use this on a non magical item that is in the possession of someone or something that they are in direct contact with (provided it is within the weight limit), is there any saving throw?

Couple of examples...

1. Used on a saddle that happens to have a rider in it. (Or the buckle of the saddle perhaps).
2. Clothing being worn by someone.
3. Weapons or armor

The CA book and PHB is a bit vague on when a saving throw is in order from the description, but it does list in the write up that there is a will save (object).

Thanks for any clarification.

Those would all be "attended objects" and get a Save.

All 3 have saves, the first maybe can use the save of the mount.
