How do you get rid of baneful polymorth?
We have a pain of a pally in the group that cost us 25k in gold. I would have polymorthed him if i knew how to remove it.

Can the caster of the spell remove it at will?
Dispell magic?
remove curse?

Dispel Magic.

Dispel Magic and Greater Dispelling are your two lowest-level options. Beyond that, you're going to have to deal with either Miracle or Wish, although I'd probably consider letting Limited Wish do the job for you easily enough.

I agree with Amethyst Dragon, as long as you are stable you should be OK. Should being the key word there. :smirk:

On another note, I noticed that you called the spell "Baneful Polymorph" instead of Baleful Polymorph.

I always thought that the proper name of this spell should be "Baneful Polymorph", as the word Baleful denotes evil and thus it would imply that the spell should have the evil sub-type.

From The American Heritage Dictionary under the definition of baleful:

Usage Note: Baleful and baneful overlap in meaning, but baleful usually applies to something that is menacing or foreshadows evil: a baleful look. Baneful most often describes that which is actually harmful or destructive: baneful effects of their foreign policy.

Would i have to make a dispell check to dispell my own polymorth?

YES . . . Baleful Polymorph (the old Polymorph Other) is not a dismissable spell (dismissable meaning the caster can dismiss his spell at will).

or

No . . . Polymorph (the old Polymorph Self) is a dismissable spell (it has a "D" next to the spell's duration).

When you attempt to Dispel a spell that was cast by yourself, you automatically succeed on the check. So a 3rd level spell can negate your own Baleful Polymorph. For someone else's, hope you roll high enough...
