Are there any ways for barbarians to get around activating items when in rage. Things like wands and scrolls, even some items, normally can't be utilized in rage. Are there ways around this?

The schism power could arguably let your barb accomplish this, though the problem is then how to access it in item form...:P

Where is the schism power from?

I presume you're talking about some sort of barbarian mage thingy. There is the "Rage Mage" PrC in complete warrior that would let you cast spells while in a rage.

Otherwise, just use magic items that are "always on", or just be sure to activate them before going into a rage.

I think I've once seen something like that in Dragon. I think it allowed you to use UMD during Rage, as well. Can't seem to remember exactly where and what it was, though...

Does that remove the limitation of not being able to activate wands during rage?:P
