Bard's spell = divine? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-21-03, 03:57 PM Hi, I was wondering, are Bard's Cure Wounds spells counted as divine spells?
For a Mystic Theurge PrC, I need to be able to cast 2nd level divine spell and I was wondering whether Bard's Cure Moderate Wounds spell can be counted to meet that requirement or not.

10-21-03, 04:02 PM Nope, all Bard spells are Arcane, regardless of what other class spell lists it may appear on.

10-21-03, 04:32 PM Yup, Bards cast Arcane Spells. It just happens that the Bard has Cure spells on his arcane spell list. He's the exception to the rule, nobody else can ever cast an arcane heal (unless its with Use Magic Device and a scroll/wand).

Sorry, but if you want to be a Mystic Theurge, you have to take levels in divine caster. Just be happy your DM even allows you to take that PrC, as I at least consider it to be horribly broken, as do several other DMs on these boards.
