Hi, This I belive has been covered in the beguiler/wizard thread, but just wanted to clarify as my query blurrs the line between divine and arcane.

Am I correct in thinking that if a Bard were to scribe a Cure spell(which is arcane magic in the bard spell list) and that a wizard could in turn take that scroll(as it would be arcane) and add that spell to his repetoire of spells.

:$$: My Bard sees money to be made in that venture.

No. Even though it is an arcane spell in that case, it still is not part of the Wizard's spell list, so he can't even activate it without Use Magic Device. Nowhere is it written that Wizards can have "any arcane spell" in their spellbook. They are still limited to their spell list.

However, they can scribe a Silent Image spell into their spellbook, since that spell is on both classes' spell lists. The Wizard would always scribe it as the spell level he gets it at normally, however.

You are so wrong it isn't funny.

No, you can't do that.

If the spell isn't on the Wizard's CLASS LIST, then he can not add it to his spell book (which for Wizards is his spells known list.)

You can not add any spell to your spells known with any method that doesn't explicitly say "from any spell list" or say from the list you are taking (like "from the bard spell list".)

This covers Extra Spell (CArc), Expanded Knowledge (Master Specialist), etc.
