The description quite clearly says that it stuns targets even if they make their save, but in the summary block it says that a fort save negates the spell. Is anyone aware of errata on this? As written it's a devastating spell, much more powerful than power word stun, for example. [no hp maximum, affects multiple targets, only 6th level] Assuming it's written correctly and it does stun creatures even on a successful save, can anyone think of a good way around this for my NPC villians? I can have everyone with greater spell immunity keyed to fanfare, or I can try and get all my big bad villans immune to stunning, but that seems rather cruel for a DM. As a DM I just have nightmares when i think of a great wyrm prismatic dragon being automatically stunned for several rounds every time he casts the spell. |
