Can you wear Barkskin and Stoneskin at the same time?

i don't see why not, other than it just sounds funny. but they give different bonuses so they should stack.

But what if you consider that barkskin and stoneskin are both layers that lie over your own body and armor. What then?

But what if you consider that barkskin and stoneskin are both layers that lie over your own body and armor. What then?

So an armor bonus from bracers of armor and a deflection bonus shouldn't stack either? They both give "layers" of magical protection.

Barkskin provides a natural armor bonus. Stoneskin provides Damage Reduction. The two are completely different, and therefore can be used simultaneously.

You don't need to try and figure out how they work, as it is magic, and as everyone knows, magic defys logic and physics. That's why they call it that. ;)

nah, they still work. one gives natural armor bonus, one give damage reduction, and your armor gives a normal armor bonus. imagine it however you want to, layers, melded bark and stone together, however makes sense to you, but they do all work at the same time.

imagine a fighter with layers of stoneskin, barkskin, platemale and dex bonus.

orc swings at the fighter. the fighter tries to dodge (dex) but doesn't, the platemail (regular armor bonus) gets penetrated, the blade continues further through the bark (natural armor) and hits the fighter in his stone skin for 8 damage. the stone skin, having DR 10, is not penetrated and the fighter's real body parts take no damage this attack.

Bracers of armor give armor bonus, not deflection.

Bracers of armor give armor bonus, not deflection.

That is correct. My previous post stated that an armor bonus and a deflection bonus (implied that they are from different sources) both stack with "layers" of magical protection.

Perhaps I should've been clearer.
