If a 6th level cleric casts stone shape, how many cubic feet is it?
Our DM states it would NOT be an area that is roughly 16*16*16 feet. He states that it should be an area totaling 16 cubic feet or 2*2*2.
Who is correct? Anyone who wrote the book willing to explain?

He states that it should be an area totaling 16 cubic feet or 2*2*2. your DM is right, but 2*2*2 = 8.

Yeah, it's not a 16 ft. cube, it's 16 cubic feet. So 2 x 2 x 2.

2 ft x 2 ft x 2ft is 8 ft^3, folks.

You need something more along the lines of 4 x 2 x 2 for 16 cubic feet...

To get a nice cube you need x = 16^1/3
x = (approx) 2.52

So your cube would be 2.52 x 2.52 x 2.52 feet
