| Tinari02-08-07, 03:16 AM | Hiya. I am a bit drawn between two classes for fighting in my friends campaign. Battle-sorcerer and Wilder. I want to play a gish style character. I currently have a Wilder7/Slayer3, but was wondering if being a Battle-sorcerer would be worthwhile to try. The thing is that makes it more complex than just making the usual "ultimate gish" in the game, is that leveling up is more based on the "You need to find training" and being multiple classes becomes cumbersome, specially when trying to multi-class into more than 3-4 things at once. So I was wondering if a straight Battle-sorcerer is a fairly good gish, and if there was any Slayer equvilent classes that could help it along, such as Eldritch Knight, with more umph. :P Thanks for any input. Edit: Forgot, the entire reason I went here. Should I look to the "definitive sorcerer spell list" for my magic spells, or would the fewer amount of spells and spells known be enough of a change to warrent different spells? |

A BattleSorcerer15/AbjurantChampion5 is not a bad gish. |

That's one of those things that after you read it, you slap yourself on the forehead and go "Oh, duh..." Anyway. I am trying now to make a gish that is a battlefield control. I want to use a variety of weapon and Enlarge, Greater to keep my reach and control at it's highest. I use a heavy flail for primary fighting (And the +2 disarm bonus) and have a whip and the spell "Master's Touch" to give me a huge area to cover when needed. Would Wizard be better, with their less spells per day and thelimited list of spells I actually use, it doesn't seem as useful for a class. And would fighter be worth getting to cover the feats for improved disarm and trip, or should, with such a reach, I even concern myself with the feats like that in the first place? Spells don't seem to be the crux of my decision problems either. I can get spells picked easily enough, but I seem to never be able to find feats that work with gish well. I am NOT well versed in feat selection. |
