beating undetectable alignment? [Archive] - Wizards Community

An undetectable alignment spell conceals the alignment of an object or a creature from all forms of divination.

Is there anything pre-epic which can defeat this? By blocking ALL forms of divination, would powerful beings such as arch-devils, Angels, or even demigods be able to penetrate this?

05-29-06, 02:07 AM I make it so that there is a caster level check. becuase it seems pretty much broken if it can block an epic creature's divinations with a spell cast by a low-level adventurer.

05-29-06, 04:27 AM Consider for a moment that detect spells don't allow a saving throw and I think you will figure out very quickly why this spell is unbeatable pre-epic.

They certainly don't say or imply there was a divination effect to decide if you get the negative level, say.

In any campaign I run, the largest churches have access to helmets/chairs to use for those special occasions when they REALLY need to be sure someone's a compatible alignment.

"On further thought, sir....we will not be assisting you with that Permanent spell effect/item."

Gods (even demigods) can usually penetrate mortal magic such as this whenever they want, that's largely DM-dependent though.
