| Pentar07-14-07, 01:17 PM | In the PHB2, there is a Beguiler spell called Legion of Sentinels. The spell summons a small cluster of illusionary/shadow warriors that can make AoOs and help threaten squares. The spell gives the illusion's AC, Hit Points, Saves and skill checks, but it has no statistics on its BAB, damage, damage bonus, attributes or anything else that would actually tell you the details of their attack abilities! Does anyone know if I'm missing something?? |

The attack bonus is your caster level. The damage is 1d8+1/3 CL (and though it isn't explicit, it's a 19-20/x2 crit, just like a longsword). Since they're incorporeal and do nothing but this particular action, you don't need more than this. It basically sets up a field that attacks you if you provoke AoOs, dealing longsword-style damage. The sentinels themselves are just the visual effect. |

But we could not find anywhere in the spell description that says how much damage they do, or what type of sword they use. We postulated that it uses CL as its attack roll, since the spell says it uses your CL for Saves and "checks"... but we weren't 100% certain... and we definitely do not see anywhere where it says the damage is 1d8+1/3 CL... However, that is not unreasonable and we might just go with that. We were just wondering where it was said... |

As I said RIGHT AT THE START OF MY FIRST REPLY, the short spell description, page 97 (for beguilers). The crit range came from Ask Wizards, although it isn't hard to infer (given the description and mechanics of the spell match the longsword...). |
