After battling through your horde of minions, the 4-man party of typical do-gooders has finally kicked your door down, and they're standing reading, glowing with buffs and sickening goodness, ready to introduce you to a world of pain and a quick trip to the afterlife. Unfortunately for them, you've been aware they were coming for quite some time, and you're loaded for bear too. Time to kick Good in the teeth! Round 1. Fight! What is it that you do in round one of the battle, without using Disjunction, to really get the anihilation of the party going on? ======================================== ========= Rules: You are an arcane spellcaster capable of casting 9th level spells. You are forbidden from casting Disjunction. You can have any long-term buffs you could normally cast/activate from items ready. One round per level buffs are not allowed. Your goal is Total Party Kill. No mercy. You are alone. Only describe your actions on the first round of combat. Explain your choices. |
| PhaedrusXY02-05-05, 11:39 AM | Before they got there, I had cast Magic Jar and possessed some villager I had taken prisoner months ago and tortured until now. I then Cast Shrink Object on my inert body, Meld with Stone on my Familiar via Share Spells, and had it sink into the stone floor with my shrunken real body. Then I spend about 1/4th of my spells or more on "buffing" myself, including Shapechange. The focus of the Magic Jar is in the room, but I will stay away from it, in case I get hit with a Mord's Disjunction. And of course, I always keep a Contingency on me to counterspell Greater Dispel Magic if someone casts it in my presence. When the do-gooders show up, I activate my metamagic rod of maximization, and cast Time Stop. During the Time Stop, I cast Gate and call a Pit Fiend, drop a Cloudkill spell into the area, and catch as many of the do-gooders as possible in a Forcecage (barred style). Then I cast Mirror Image, and as a free action Shapechange into the largest, nastiest thing I know, walk over to one of the do-gooder spellcasters and ready an action to grapple him/her. |
