So after watching a marathon of the BEN10 tv series I began to wonder if the omnitrix could be built as a magic item. Because I have no knowledge of the mechanics of magic item creation and can't figure it out after reading the DMG I have decided to task this to you the posters on this board in the hopes that you will all happily jump to the task. Thank you for any help in advanced. I will check this regularly to add what info I can.

Essentially it gives you a use-activated polymorph:

CL x Spell Level x 2000 = 7x4x2000 = 56000gp

Now, the cost of the material component is negligible, but it gives you more than one ability, so you have to multiply it by two:

56000x2 = 112000gp

I am assuming that it uses the same body slot as bracers would for the watch, and you get a 7 minute charge each time you use it, and it could be used for any number of alien forms.

All this is according to the magic item estimation table on page 285 of the DMG.

so basically I use that formula and then make some forms that fit possibly using some previously made monsters for the stats? I was thinking that there would be finite number of shapes available to morph into so would that change anything? Also does the shapes you can change into affect the price?

You might look here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=778921), they had worked on this before.
