| Chaos_Infidel01-28-06, 10:10 PM | I have become aware of a 1st lvl sorc/wiz spell that allows the caster to switch places with any target within 25 +5ft/2 lvls. No saving throw. Has anyone heard of either of these spells and know where they could be found? |

Benign Transposition cannot be used on a grappled target. If a creature is grappling the target of Baleful Transposition, he may make a Will save as well. If either Will save succeeds, the spell fails as if the target made the will save. This prevents the wizard from burning a 1st-level spell slot to rescue a fellow from the clutches of a monster, and transpose him with, say, the party's Raging Barbarian. Especially since the usefulness of that technique only goes up as the party gets higher in level. I'd like to emphasize once again, that's a personal house rule. Now, on a different note, I'd like to point out an important statement from the PHB, Page 175, Under Aiming a Spell; Target or Targets: "Unconscious creatures are automatically considered willing..." so yes, you can transposition your ally who's at -7 out of the front lines, with a first-level spells. It's really an amazingly handy spell. |

I highly recommend adding this line of text to the body of the spell: "Any transposed ally must spend one move action to reacclimate himself to his new position at the beginning of his next turn." This will prevent the "full attack action" combo that makes this spell an absolute boss-killer. |
