With all the new text out there in D&D land, I was just wondering what you all thought was the best 7th lvl spell for a Sorcerer?

Darkuwa,

IMHO the best 7th level spell for a sorcerer is Limited Wish, hands down. In fact when I play this type of caster, it is the first 7th level spell I get.

Why? The sorcerer's main weakness is his limited selection of spells. For a very modest XP cost (at the level you get it), limited wish can mimic ANY spell from ANY list fifth level or less, and can mimic any Sorc/Wiz spell that is 6th level or less. That neatly sidesteps the limited selection of spell.

Limited wish shall be the first 7th level spell for wizard or sorcerer.

limited wish or shadow conjuration are the two best 7th level spells for a sorcerer IMO, because both grant alot of versitility, sort of making up for the limited number of spells known (limited wish offers a bit more in this regard but has that XP component). Although IMO the sorcerer only needs one or the other.

I'm not that big a fan of LW, personally. I just don't like the xp cost spells. Greater Shadow Conj is really nice, DBF has a ton of apps, Spell Turning is a decent buff, and Prismatic Spray has a ton of awesome effects and a great area. For a second one, I'd go Finger of Death, because I like insta-kill spells when I can use them.
