Does anyone has any suggestions about what or who are the best creatures to call with a planar binding - spell?
(In terms of overal battle prowess versus a large number of opponents)

The following pre-requisites apply:
- they must be neutral or good-aligned
- an air-elemental or celestial template may be added to a base creature.

Thank you for any responses :)

Depends on what you need done. For battle prowess over many creatures, you probably want something that can cast area effect spells. If spells are a bad idea (too many friends in an area) then just about any high hit die multi-attack creature is good.

I would say noble djnni always. But if you need a battle creature. i would probly get an astral deva (angel) against undead or Gehaele(eladrin) Celestial. Utility i would probly say Couatl.adult tojanida for traveling under water if you need a guide. Leonal has firball at will. for fighting Groups i suggest leonal (guardinal) or Ghaele (eleadrin). Ghaele's are one of my favorite things to Bind.

Ghaele is always nice if you need a portable source of continuous healing. :)

good idea. :)
This has brought me thinking about hound archons as well. They are decent fighters too.

I suppose that if you call them to help in a fight to protect a town of innocent people, they will happily agree to help without the caster really needing to "bind" them?
As I think the Ghaele will want to help without needing much of convincing from the caster if the cause is right.

With regards to binding, it is more a matter of semantics. First of all, you did forcefull imprison it, so you got to appologize.

The good creatures realize that you are such a good, sweet, noble person, that of course you would want to help THEM save a collection of sweet bunny rabbits from a nasty horde of Demons.

Basically, it is still the same thing, you have to pay up a reward.

Also, wishes are usually a bad idea to do this. The Djinni words the wish, not you.

If you don't pay for the wish with a pretty good reward, the Djinni, even if he failed the will contest, will word it strangely, ensuring that you will not like what you get.
