Now, come on people, I know there are some Incarnum lovers out there like me.

The book has been out now for well over a month, and by looking at these boards you would think it didn't exist.

All I want to know is; what do people think are the best Soulmelds and why?

I think it varies by build (is the character a straight Incarnum user, or a dabbler).

I really like the feat Shape Soulmeld: Mage's Spectacles for an Artificer character. Easy prereq, and +4 on UMD (and 2 others) makes this a potent boost to that character class.

Blink Shirt is neat, but I can't think of too many exploitations with it.

w00t incarnum! <<see sig>>

Although it might not be the best, I am quite fond of blink shirt. Here's a list of uses I have already compiled:

Teleport to the trop of a tree, no climb check!
If somebody is trying to attack you, continously ready standard actions of blinking behind him, he'll never catch you!
Teleport out of a grapple
Teleport onto the back of someones horse
Ready blinks to dodge arrows
Carry a piton. Drive piton through any wall thinner than the piton is long and teleport through hole.
Add distance to large jumps
Never be seen between shadows when sneaking up on somebody

Lol, gotta be more.

Another nice trick is to take basilisk mask then bind it so you can turn people to stone 1 round at a time. Get the party wizard to cast stone to mud on these victims :D

That has got to be the evilest thing I've heard in a while.

But my personal favorite is the wormtail belt when bound to the totem chakra. Ya got natural armor AND and scorpion tail.

Last time I heard Pun-pun could shape soulmelds since they're, you know, special qualities. Don't know the ML, though, or what this statement has to do with this thread.

For me, I like Sphinx claws for totemist, nothing like binding them to your hands, binding garillon arms to your totem and being able to do four natural attacks after a charge. For incarnate, I found airstep sandal to be very handy, perfect manueverability rules!

I like Planar Ward. Being uneffected by charms while it's shaped is very cool; nothing sucks worse than being dominated into attacking ones allies.

On a side note, I agree that there should be an actual Incarnum thread. I can never find any on Incarnum, and every time I start one, it dies after 2 or 3 posts.

I like the Blink Shirt quite a lot - teleport as a move action? That's excellent.

Phoenix Belt is great for healing.

Phase Cloak might be my favorite, since you can become ethereal whenever you move. Being able to walk through all barriers, ignore Attacks of Opportunity... it's wonderful.

I like cystal helm. You can never have enough AC. :D

I can't remember the name (I let my friend borrow it) but I beleive it was rage claws. I like the idea of still fighting well beyond -10 hp.

Yeah, I like crystal helm as well.

I really like the flavor of the totemist.

And I agree there should be an incarnum forum.

The problem is that Incarnum has been out for a while now, and nobody seems to take any interest in it. Heck, finding a thread about anything related to Incarnum is like finding a needle in a hay stack.

I Second that! We need an Incarnum Section real bad!!!

As for soulmelds, my favorite shifts like Essentia (*TCH*). However, the 24d6 blast of the Bloodswar Gauntlets is so RAW! Helped me escape from inside a dire shark once. ANd so did the blink shirt when I think of it, but that was a Purple worm...

Perhaps we should make a Incarnum Section ourself. Just like we did with the Warlock Circle.

The traffic isn't high enough to warrant a board to ourselves yet. :)

I'm trying to gather together useful information in this thread:

That might be a chicken and egg problem, though. The existence of an Incarnum board (I imagine) would produce much more discussion about the topic. Magic & Spells gets pretty busy; it's easy to miss Incarnum threads among the clutter of Energy Orb criticism threads.

For those who might like to discuss Incarnum, they're left to scattering their queries among disparate boards. Questions are strewn among Magic and Spells, Character Optimization, various setting boards, etc. You can't create a community for discussion in that kind of environment.

So choose a board and post only there.

(I'd suggest General just because it doesn't quite fit anywhere else).

That'd be fine if I were the only one posting about this topic. Instead, anyone with an interest needs to guess at the best place.
