02-28-06, 08:09 PM I am planning on making a gnome illusionist. I was wondering what illusion spells everyone likes to use the most, the most powerful, the most helpful, or the most utilitarian. Also, your favorite uses of minor image spell tree (minor, silent, etc.) What do you make them mimic as well as how do you use them. (flanking, intimidation, battlefied control, misleading, etc.) Any help on how to use illusion spells would be appreciated.
Also, any links to good illusion threads would be appreciated.

Thanks and I hope I gave enough info on what I need help with.

02-28-06, 08:15 PM the best spells for an illusionist are somewhat dependant upon your barred schools... if you lack conjuration and or evocation then the shadow conjuration and shadow evocation line are a must, as they give you access to many spells you might want to use at a later time... infact they are very good even if you do not have conjuration or evocation as barred schools because of thier very versatility.

03-01-06, 01:24 PM If you're using the Spell Compendium. A must have Illusion spell is Phantasmail Assailant. So much butt-kicking power is packed into that spell that you simply must use it.

03-01-06, 06:40 PM when are lowlevel, besides the most obvious choice (color spray)l

ventriloquism
magic aura
disguise self

and your first second level spell should be invisibility. It's just too useful.

3rd level first choice is major image[i]

If you're intelligent and creative, [i]major image is probably the most powerful spell on you list.
