| LadyCirra04-08-08, 12:57 PM | If one has immunity to mind-affecting spells, does or should that make one immune to any Bigby's spell? |
| Makuya04-08-08, 01:00 PM | Those two are exclusive to one another, dear madam. |
| Seeker9504-08-08, 01:11 PM | I do not see [mind-affecting] attached to any Bigby spell. What prompts your question? |
| LadyCirra04-08-08, 01:32 PM | I play NeverWinter Nights. When someone casts a Bigby's on another that has immunity to mind-affecting spells, the player receives a message stating that the victim is immune to mind-affecting spells....and the spell fails. |
| Makuya04-08-08, 01:47 PM | Must be a software bug. |
| Salla04-08-08, 01:49 PM | Must be a software bug. Or programmer error. But at any rate, I'm not aware of any Mind-Affecting Bigby's spells either. |
| LadyCirra04-08-08, 02:13 PM | That's what I thought. They are listed under evocation spells, which produce something from nothing. That doesn't sound like mind-affecting to me. Thanks! |
| Fireclave04-08-08, 02:14 PM | Or programmer error. Or a design issue. The thing you have to keep in mind is that NWN is "almost D&D." It does a pretty good job at simulating the D&D experience (imo), but due to the nature of the PC environment, some aspects of the game will simply have to be changed, simplified, and/or modified to make the game a reality. Most likely, since in NWN Bigby's Hand spells tend to duplicate some paralytic spell effects iirc, Bigby's Hand is probably either running on the same internal mechanic as Hold Person and Hold Monster or that paralytic effects are treated as mind-affecting by default. |

Well, I've never played the game, so I can't dispute anything you say there. Makes as much sense as anything else ... actually, probably more sense. |
| LimaBeanMage04-08-08, 04:45 PM | Yes, in NwN some of the bigby's spells work through paralysis, stun, or daze. Though, only clenched fist, which stuns, should be subject to immunities. The others have been patched to bypass paralysis immunity. |
