Ok, so i am of the general opinion that magic can be used to do just about anything.

So then, if you were to emulate the abilities of a BInder with a certain vestige, how would you go about it?

Or, more simply, if i wanted to roleplay taking in an entity and recieving powers(sort of like the visage spells) how would you do it?

I do not believe there is a spell that can do such, but there is a feat that allows you to (limitedly) call vestiges to you. It is in the Binder Section.

well, i was thinking along the line of how to go about creating a spell... what level etc.

I think every "Become Vessel of X" would be its own spell for instance, and level would be dependent on leevel of Vestige for instance. Or maybe "Become Lesser Vesel" and "Become Greater Vessel" perhaps

I'd be against it. I don't like it when spells tread too much on other class's abilities.

With "spells for binding" you pretty much take everything a binder has, making it obsolete.

I can see it as viable only if you remove Binders and the other mechanics for Pact Magic from the game.

Well, thats what i am doing actually... well, more not adding them but taking a bit of flavor.

Just like you can make the flavor of a FF style Caller with Summon Spells, Planer Ally/Binding Spells, and some roleplaying things, i was going to try to have the idea of "Binding a Vestige" without the new system.

I got the idea with the Visage of Deity spells... The idea would be you use a spell to make yourself a vessel for Entity X. Each entity would need a different ritual spell of course, probably an Focus as well as Material Components to sacrifice.

Of course it wouldnt be exactly the same. Maybe the duration of 'possesion' would be hour/level. Maybe even shorter depending. Maybe the powers would be different; if the duration was maybe like minute/level the every five round powers would be at will once a round till the end of spell. Or maybe stay at 1 every 5 if hour/level.

I dunno something along those lines

I would definitely make the duration less than an hour/level. Or perhaps that long as a "latent" spell, then when you activate your vestige the first time it lasts for 1 round/level.

If you don't have pact magic in the game as a class feature, you can allow the following.

You could choose to have pact magic work pretty much as stated, only it becomes a spell of the appropriate level ie: binder level = caster level. Some vestiges should be restructured to fit accordingly -- some 2nd level vestiges will become 2nd level spells, other 3rd level spells, etc.

Or you could summon a vestige straight into you, changing the fluff appropriately

I think it would be more appropriate to change the duration to one minute/level. Casting time should be, at the very least, a full round action.
