I have a sorcerer dragon disciple that uses the spell Bite of the Werewolf to devastating effect. It is a free spell on the WotC sire in their spellbook section. I wish they wouldn't have retired this section, but what can ya do? Anyway, when I cast this on my DD, he becomes a true monster. If I cast Bull's Strength on top of that, I am a melee god! The last fight this character was in he had a 32 strength, 24 constitution, 20 dexterity, armor class of 26.

He had the spell "Vile Lance" from the BoVD going and was using his conjured magic +2 vile spear dealing two-handed weapon damage. For a grand total of +18 to-hit, and 1D8+18 damage for each attack(2/round). I was dealing more damage than any other character in the group. Of course we had all lost all of our items temporarily, so we were all naked. That's pretty good isn't it?

What does anybody else think of these "bite of the..." spells? Thoughts? Comments? Experiences? Thanks.

I don't think they are that good. None of them are cumulative with Bull's Strenght, neither with magical items that enhace Strenght. Polymorph and Shapechange are usually better options because they last more and don't have that sickening 25% arcane spell failure.

These "Bite" spells may be good if your character has a really HIGH STR (in a mannerf that you get better scores than by using Polymorph/Shapechange).

To do that, you would have to take 10 levels of dragon disciple. But then, at level 20, you would only have 5h-level spells, and the best you can cast would be Bite of the Werewolf (a insignificant +2 bonus to STR).

If you are talking about Epic Levels, hmm, I suppose you won't have difficulty finding an item that gives +16 to STR at level 30.

How does casting bull's strength help with casting one of the bite spells? Don't both provide an enhancement bonus to strength?

I completly missed that part about enhancement bonuses!!! Shees! You are correct gentlemen. Also, I read the wrong bite spell and thought that the werewolf one gave a +6 to strength. My serious mistake folks. Wait 'till my DM finds out I've been cheating. I'm in for it now. Anyway, I do still like the spell, just that my bulls strength doesn't stack with it and I'm not as strong from bonuses. The natural armor is cool along with the dex and con bonuses. Kind of like raging as a wizard huh.
