| rec196601-06-04, 01:35 PM | Does the disintergrate on a crit hit with BBoD get a saving throw? The spell block for the spell says Saving Throw:None, but I have heard arguements that that is only for the regular damage done by the sword. To back the No Save stance, compare BBoD to Sphere of Ultimate Destruction(UE pg 52). SoUD threatens Disintergrate on all hits vs <15% for BBoD,SoUD has Medium range vs Short for BBoD, and SoUD doesn't require concentration to maintain the spell vs BBoD requiring concentration to maintain the spell. |
| cwslyclgh01-06-04, 02:00 PM | according to Sean K Reynolds and Skip Williams both, the disintegration affect allows a save exactly like the disintegrate spell. |
| Xavim01-08-04, 10:05 PM | I'd say no. It's a 9th level spell and is basically a wizard's vorpal weapon. |
| ManTimeForgot01-09-04, 01:14 AM | The 2ed version of black blade of disaster allowed for a save; I see no reason why it would not now. The fact that it says disintegration leads me to believe that what was intended was that the person so affected by black blade of disaster is affected as though subject to a disintegration spell. Thank You all and have a nice day. Signed, The Man Time Forgot |
