| HeavenShallBurn02-28-04, 08:46 PM | Hi, I'm going to play a fallen-Paladin --> Black guard in a campaign during the next months. When I read the description of the fiendish servant I'found out that there is the sentence "This creature may be used as ... a Mount (such as a horse) ..." Does the "Horse" description means a heavy warhores, a heavy horse, a light horse or even a pony ( or war pony) ? Everything but a War Horse (/pony) is not able to to fight while carrying a rider, as the description says. Does the "fiendish"-advancement make it able to be used in combat ? Is a mount for a Black Guard trained for combat and therefore a special kind of Horse, or even a Warhorse ? Why does a Heavy Horse has -1 attack bonus whith its hoves, while the base attack bonus is +2 and the strengh is 16 (+3), compared to the +6 hoves of the heavy warhorse (whose strengh is just 18 [+4]) ? Does the fiendish advancement increses this attack bonus ? I wanted to create a Rider with my mount, am I able to do this while being a Black Guard ? I am very thankful for all your answers and suggestions :) //edit: This may is in the wrong topic... |

Does the "Horse" description means a heavy warhores, a heavy horse, a light horse or even a pony ( or war pony) ? I'ld use a heavy warhorse. That's the standard mount of a paladin, which blackguards are supposed to be the evil version of. Why does a Heavy Horse has -1 attack bonus whith its hoves, while the base attack bonus is +2 and the strengh is 16 (+3), compared to the +6 hoves of the heavy warhorse (whose strengh is just 18 [+4]) ? Heavy horses are concidered "non-combative herbivores", which means they suffer a -5 penalty to their attacks. They also suffer a -1 penalty to attack rolls for being large size. War horses are trained for combat, so they don't suffer the -5 penalty. Does the fiendish advancement increses this attack bonus ? Yes. Each time you get bonus HD, your mount would improve it's attack bonus(It's BAB would be 3/4 of it's HD including the bonus HD from being a fiendish servant). |
