I just picked up Sand Storm, and had a question regarding Black Sand.

It deals continous negative enenergy damage, does this mean that it heals undead? I would say yes, but normally it is mentioned in the spell description so I thought I'd ask.

If so, this would quickly become a True Necromancers best friend, especially with the Tomb Tainted Soul feat.

Not everything that does negetive energy damage heals undead (though most do), but it is absolutely so nasty that I would have to rule that it does indeed heal them. My players will hate me for it.

Actually, anything that does negative energy damage DOES heal undead, unless the effect specifically says otherwise.

EX: There is one neg-energy spell in Libris Mortis that either damages living creatures with neg. energy OR, when targeting undead, causes some other bad effect, instead of the negative energy.

It says it specifically in the entry for Undead, so yep, good ol Black Sand :D

Heh, sorry... can't hold it .....in .....any longer.... Mwuhahahahaha!

Lol, my players are gonna hate me too. Next time I make a villian for a campaign, it's gonna be a necropolis, surrounded by permanent black sand, with a True Necromancer with Tomb Tainted soul, and a ton of undead.

Creatutes that die from some kinds of negative energy damage become undead...in this case a Wight. Look herehere... (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/naturalSpecialAbilities.htm#energyDrainA ndNegativeLevels)Or does Black Sand do negative levels?
