I'm talking about version 3.0 of PHB 1. in the manual it says that creatures within the barrier when it is invoked may avoid damage with a successful save vs Reflexes (provided that they can escape the barrier). Question is: what happens if a creature fails her save? Obviously it takes the damage the same round the barrier has been invoked, but what happens the next round? Does she continue to take the damage, until she stays within the barrier? 2. A creature staying still within the barrier is damaged by the barrier? About Holy Aura, I have one more question: in the PHB it says that if a creature succeeds at a melee attack against a warded creature, the offending attacker is blinded (Fortitude save negates). Question is: does Spell Resistance apply in this case? Or that is the case of a resistant creature encountering a spell that is already in place? Thank you all for your answers :D Sir Mon |

If the offender is standing in the area of the Blade Barrier spell for 4 rounds, she takes damage for four rounds. Standing still doesn't change whether or not they take damage, the barrier is made of flying blades that move. The Spell Resistance should apply only if the spell would normally allow SR to apply. The check is made once, when the creature first encounters the spell, the save is made every time the creature interacts with it, however, in this case. |
