I have a rogue who has a ring of blinking. Is it correct that my movement is reduced to 3/4 of my regular speed? Also, is my sight and hearing limited to 60 feet? Our monk has a globe of invulnerability per a feat. I am afraid that suppresses my blink rink, correct?

What made you think movement was reduced? Sight and hearing are not limited on the material plane, but are limited on the ethereal plane.

The GLobe of invunerability will suppress the effect of the blink ring when you are in range.

But what feat do you think grants that POWERFULL spell at will? Even 1/day seems way too strong for a mere feat. Feats just barely scrape buy granting you a 2nd level spell once per day, no way could it get a 4th level Lesser Globe, let alone the 6th level Globe of Invunerability.

It certainly does not seem like a balanced feat. It practically screams out "OVER POWERED" to me.

While blinking, you can step through (but not see through) solid objects. For each 5 feet of solid material you walk through, there is a 50% chance that you become material. If this occurs, you are shunted off to the nearest open space and take 1d6 points of damage per 5 feet so traveled. You can move at only three-quarters speed (because movement on the Ethereal Plane is at half speed, and you spend about half your time there and half your time material.)

The bolded line is confusing, since it appears in a paragraph talking about moving through objects, but is phrased and motivated in a general way. I've played that the speed reduction applies all the time.

Oh.

I always took that to only apply to moving within an object.

I can see why the confusion arises, but the text makes it fairly clear (I think) that the speed reduction is due to the fact that half of your time is spent on the Ethereal Plane, which remains true whether you're moving within an object or not.

What about ther reference to sight and hearing being limited to 60 feet? Would that apply to me using the ring?

Yes, but it only applies when you are ethereal. And since the spell mentions it but doesn't impose any mechanical penalties on you (as it does for movement), I'd say it normally doesn't affect you in any significant way.

Assuming that the monk in question is a human in Eberron and at least 9th level, the feat could easily be Greater Dragonmark of Sentinel.

I think it might actually be part of his saint template.

Actually, if the text refers to moving within objects then it is nonsensical, since the previous sentences clearly rule that becoming non-ethereal while moving through am object results in you being shunted and taking damage. You can't become non-ethereal while moving through am object, and thus can't be non-ethereal 50% of the time!

:mymy:

If he has the Saint template, I don't think you should be worried about your own abilities. Just sit back and watch.

(Ah, the Saint template. One of the only two things I've ever banned in my game...)
