| CryoSilver02-26-06, 10:12 AM | Now, the spell Blizzard from Frostburn affects a 100 foot/level radius, at long range; but that means that no matter where you cast it, you will always be affected by your own spell, because at caster level 9, the spell affects everything within a 900 foot radius and your maximum range is only 760 feet! Doesn't that seem somewhat odd? By caster level 40, the spread is so big, that no matter where you cast, you will affect everything within range! With certain abilities, and feats like Widen Spell, that is not unreasonable to expect. Even when you first gain access to the spell, if you cast centered on yourself, you will encompass the entire area you can affect based on your maximum range! Anyone else think this is strange? |

I'm sure that with some thought, you can come up with others. Also, Medium range is 100ft +10/level. Long range is 400ft +40/level. You're safe even without the solutions provided above. |
