Blood Heat
Necromancy [Fire]
Level: Sorcerer/wizard 6, Warmage 6
Components: None
Casting Time: 1 immediate action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: Instantaneous

The blade sinks into your chest, nicking your heart. You are not dead, but you are fast on your way. In that moment, your blood begins to boil and you feel a strength that only the touch of imminent death can give.

This spell can only be used when taking damage from a physical source (any kind of damage that would give Damage Reduction). After rolling damage, you may use this spell as an immediate action. The spell has no duration, as it is a chain reaction, not a spell effect. By effecting the heat of one's blood, you drive yourself into overdrive.
Every round, you take 1d6 damage which cannot be resisted in any way. This damage will continue until you reach 0 hitpoints. During this time, you cannot be healed in any way, including fast healing. The effect of this spell lasts until you hit 0 hitpoints.
For every 5 damage taken (including any taken before the spell was cast), you gain a +1 profane bonus to strength, and to your primary casting stat (charisma for sorcerers, intelligence to wizards). For every round after the spell was cast, you gain DR 1/silver and magic, which is a cumulative effect, stacking with itself and with any previous damage reduction.
Special: This spell cannot be shared with a familiar in any way. It also cannot be removed with a dispelling effect, or with anti-magic field. This spell is a death sentence. It grants power, but at the cost of your life.

It's not entirely obvious from the wording that the caster benefits from this when hit by someone else.
The spell can reduce you below 0 hit points, right? Or does it stop at 0 hit points? Remember, you don't die until you hit -10.
Note that the ability score bonuses are cumulative, and only last until the effect ends.

Hmm... It doesn't look overtly powerful, considering the drawback. I'm thinking level 4.

It can take you below 0, but stops once you hit 0. It is possible to stabalize and live afterwards, but pretty risky... plus doing that in the middle of battle could mean instant death.

You really think only level 4?

Yeah. Compare it to mass enlarge person and polymorph, both instantaneous, safe, and powerful buffs.

Except by the time you've taken about 100 points of damage, you have a +20 to strength and your casting stat... that seems pretty strong, no?

Yeah, you're also dead (at that level at least).

It would be a nice gish spell, but I can't see a normal caster using it all that often.
