| Trunks118201-20-04, 10:12 PM | Ok, I'm curious about what body slots are available to a player's character. On p 288 of the 3.5 DMG, it gives you a list of body slot affinities, and that's all I've seen on the subject. Also, what types of objects fill the same slot? It makes sense that gloves and gauntlets fill the same slot. What about bracers and a bracelet? Can you wear a shirt and a vest? How does Armor fit into all of this? If we could get a simple list of available slots, and what goes where, that'd rock. Thanks. |

One headband, hat, helmet, or phylactery on the head One pair of eye lenses or goggles on or over the eyes One amulet, brooch, medallion, necklace, periapt, or scarab around the neck One vest, vestment, or shirt on the torso One robe or suit of armor on the body (over a vest, vestment, or shirt) One belt around the waist (over a robe or suit of armor) One cloak, cape, or mantle around the shoulders (over a robe or suit of armor) One pair of bracers or bracelets on the arms or wrists One glove, pair of gloves, or pair of gauntlets on the hands One ring on each hand (or two rings on one hand) One pair of boots or shoes on the feet |

Just out of curiosity, but has anyone actually had any of their characters use either the eye slot, or vest/shirt slot? Also the bracers/bracelet slot seems pretty sparse. I'm just curious since I play a barbarian in our game, and couldn't think of anything that could fit in those slots for him. |

The eye slots can be used for goggles of night for races without dark vision. To my knowledge, items for the vest slot seem to be quite rare. |

They are used quite often in my games. I'm a big supporter of new and unique magic items, so there are all kinds of magic items for the eyes, such as the kind that allow you to; see magical auras, see alignment, bonus to spot, etc, etc. The vest/shirt slot in my games is used just as often, typically for protection items (like natural armor, DR, energy resistance, etc) and those that improve skills and abilities along the theme of your class (e.g a rogue's utility vest that gives a bonus to a few skills, a barbarians totem vest to extend his rage, a ranger's survival vest for aid in the wilderness, etc). That leaves the cloak slot open for other types of cloaks. |

A little OT, but I always thought a magic surcoat(taking up the vest slot) would be cool for a paladin. |
