Hammer of Righteousness is pretty cool, but the strenght damage is hurting - most of my 2nd level spells are lesser restorations now. I guess that what I wish to ask is: - Are sanctified spells too weak/too powerful/just right? Opinions? - IIRC, clerics can cast them spontaneously. I didn't mention this to my DM 'cause I think it's frankly broken. Does that mean that all sanctified spells are at the beck and call of good clerics? Is that too much? Again, I'm asking for general opinions. My DM has no qualms about this, however he's starting and I don't want to break the game too much. THNX for reading/responding |

I think they were made to let devoted characters show their own devotion, so ,IMO, you should use them as "desperate measures", something you would ask in exchange of your personal power, a sort of mechanical "abnegation", think about them as a sort of "limit break"(FFVII) technique. Needing lots of restoration , to use sanct.magic. is bad, mainly because you ask your deity to consume your strength to let yourself serve better her and the goodness , then you ask her additional power to restore you... As per their power,IMO it varies, too much to let a character depend on them, depending on your stats, the situation you're facing and the power you're calling: luminous armour could be more effective than brilliant emanation... Use them carefully, just in case of real needing, I'd say. |
