| Chronowolf01-01-07, 09:15 PM | I was looking into creating a Bogun and was wondering how much it should cost to have an NPC druid to create it for me? Thanks :) |
| Witchcraft01-01-07, 09:57 PM | It should say in the book. |
| RavenDrake01-01-07, 11:59 PM | As far as I can tell from it's description in MMII, a Bogun, much like a homunculus, can only be created by a spellcaster for personal use. They, therefore, cannot be created for someone else, or given to someone else for thier use. |
| journeyman77701-02-07, 12:03 AM | I'm AFB, so take this with a grain of salt... The bogun is equivalent to a hummunculi. I'm fairly certain you can't have one made for you by someone else. They may be able to provide some of the spells for you (not sure), but at the very least you need to cast beget bogun. |
| risner01-02-07, 12:43 AM | It would be several thousand gp (the cost of the scrolls) and you would need the spells on your spell list OR need to have a high UMD to not fail to activate the scrolls. You would need to cast (or read from a scroll) all the spells and perform the ritual yourself. |
| Chronowolf01-02-07, 12:55 AM | According to the Complete Divine book it says, "The creator may assemble the body personally or hire someone else to do it." So, in theory, I can hire an NPC druid to create it and then use Beget Bogun to bring it to life. I lack the levels for one of the spells to create it. I could buy the scroll for said spell because I am more than half that caster level. I was just curious what an NPC could charge, given they would already have the spells. |
| journeyman77701-02-07, 01:41 AM | "The creator may assemble the body personally or hire someone else to do it."That's just the craft check. Your local expert with Craft (basketweaving?) can do that for you. Just look up the daily rate for a skilled laborer. |
| risner01-02-07, 04:09 PM | According to the Complete Divine book it says, "The creator may assemble the body personally or hire someone else to do it." So, in theory, I can hire an NPC druid to create it Ignore Complete Divine, use SpC p26. You can only hire them to make the mannequin. The price of the mannequin has no gold piece cost, but does require a DC12 check. If it were 1 gp cost, it would take half a day to make. So I would say allow for half a day and one skill check to make. You can not hire someone to make it a bogun. To make the bogun you need: 1) The mannequin. 2) Caster Level 7th. 3) Craft Wondrous Item feat. 4) One week. 5) Personally cast control plants, wood shape, and beget bogun (scrolls allowed.) If you do not meet all 5 requirements, you can't make a bogun. |
