| Mondreyes09-22-04, 05:14 AM | There is supposed to be a 3rd edition or 3.5 edition book of something called: "The Book of All Spells". I cannot find it or where to buy it. Does it exist? Do I have the title right? And, who is the author and publisher? |
| Will Brandiman09-22-04, 05:45 AM | There's the Ultimate Arcane Spellbook and it's divine counterpart but they don't really live up to the name as they only contain spells that are published either in the core books or by that publisher (Mongoose?). They also have the most pointless index in the history of publishing. The spells are presented in alphabetical order in the book. So what the hell is the point of giving an alphabetical index? Why not by spell level, or by school or something a bit more useful? It's like putting an index in the dictionary! |
| Mahungee09-22-04, 07:09 AM | book of all spells from fast foreward heres the enworld product page: http://www.enworld.org/reviews/index.php?sub=yes&where=currentprod&which=BOAS |
| krichaiushii09-22-04, 08:31 AM | I found it at Amazon, and it can likely be found on Ebay, and maybe half.com. As a general rule, always check with amazon - even if you don't buy it from them, you can still glean useful information, like publisher and a price estimate. |
| Mondreyes09-22-04, 08:54 AM | Thanks for all the posts. Do you know where the spells come from... what books that is? |
| krichaiushii09-22-04, 10:34 AM | Try asking at the FFE forums (http://fastforwardgames.com/snitz/default.asp) or contacting each company involved directly and asking what books did they contribute from. |
| Mondreyes09-22-04, 10:51 AM | krichaiushii-- Thanks. Did not know about those forums. |
| Will Brandiman09-22-04, 11:00 AM | Thanks for all the posts. Do you know where the spells come from... what books that is? According to EN World "Material has been brought together from AEG, Bastion Press, Fast Forward Entertainment, Mongoose Publishing, Paradigm Concepts, Sword and Sorcery Studios and, of course, Wizards Of The Coast." |
| Mondreyes09-22-04, 11:27 AM | Thanks Will. |
| Will Brandiman09-22-04, 11:33 AM | Of course it will be out of date within a month or so. Would be a good idea to do a spell book that comes in a ring binder, like the 2e Monstrous Compendium. That way, any new spells can just be slotted into your binder whenever they are published. |
| Mondreyes09-22-04, 11:37 AM | Will Brandiman-- Out of date why? I have been looking for the old "Wizard's Spell Compendiums" but cannot find them all at one place for sale and I don't think they have an index. |
| Will Brandiman09-22-04, 11:39 AM | Out of date because new spells are released all the time and old spells are revised in errata and new editions etc. That's why a ring binder would be such a nice idea. You just take out the old version of a spell and put in the new one. |
| Mondreyes09-22-04, 11:43 AM | Will Brandiman-- Yes, that would be nice. Maybe one of the game companies will see this post and use the idea. |
| Will Brandiman09-22-04, 11:44 AM | If so, I want commission!! :D |
| Mondreyes09-22-04, 11:57 AM | Will Brandiman-- I'll testify on your behalf. It would be nice if most books were made that way so we don't have to buy each and every new book available. |
