| Keenath09-27-06, 02:06 AM | What the heck is up with some of these maneuvers? First level: Burning Blade -- activate as a swift action, your sword deals an extra 1d6+level fire damage with each hit, lasts until the end of your turn. Fourth level: Searing Blade -- same as above, but you deal an extra 2d6+level fire damage. SEVENTH level: Inferno Blade -- same as above, but you deal an extra 3d6+level I mean, what? Three more damage is worth three maneuver levels? How does THAT work? I mean, maybe if it were +2*level and +3*level respectively, that might make sense, but... |

| smrtgmp09-27-06, 02:27 AM | exactly. so you can swap out the lesser versions for the greater ones without using up another known maneuver. otherwise I would totally agree with you. |
| Esponer09-27-06, 02:38 AM | Although replacing the lesser versions with the greater versions is not necessarily the best decision. As all three are so similar in how powerful they really are, simply use all three in sequence. Round 1 • Swift Action: Inferno Blade • Full-Round Action: Full Attack Round 2 • Swift Action: Searing Blade • Full-Round Action: Full Attack Round 3 • Swift Action: Burning Blade • Full-Round Action: Full Attack Round 4 • Swift Action: Shadow Blink • Full-Round Action: Adaptive Style |
| Keenath09-27-06, 10:00 AM | I guess that makes sense -- that they're only there to be traded out or collected for additional rounds of use. It just seems odd to have them spaced out so much when the actual difference between them is so small. |
| Keenath09-27-06, 04:57 PM | See, here's another set I don't get. Divine Surge has the flavor text of making you drained, but all it does is deal 8d8 damage. And then the Greater Divine Surge, four levels higher, deals only 6d8, but you can drain CON to boost that amount, and it leaves you flat footed. Seems like one of these is typoed. |
