(ie 30+10 for boots - 10 for armor) or 30->20 then add boots to get back to 30 ?? Reason order matters - What about a dwarf in full plate (20 base reduced to 15 for full plate) - HERE is where the formula matters is it 20+10 is 30 so a dwarf acts like a MAN's 30 and it becomes 20 -OR- dwarf 20 -> 15 for full plate THEN plus +10 for boots for 25? |

I would give the dwarf a move of 30 in this situation as I consider a dwarf unhindered by heavy armor. Things get more complicated with the haste spell that grants +30 move but cannot be more than double the base move. What is the dwarfs move now? What about a human in full plate? IMO, the dwarf would get base 20, +20 for haste, +10 for boots for 50 and a human would get base 30, +30 for hast, +10 for boots and -10 for armor. However in one of the games I am playing a paladin sorc, my DM ruled as a human in full plate, I only get +20 move for the haste. Opinions? |

This means that a human wearing them has a base speed of 40' and a dwarf of 30', to whatever end that leads them. |
