Howdy everyone! I just had a short question whose answer may not be as short, I don't know.

I want to know if there is any combination of spells that would allow you to use plants to raise undead, making them...undead plants?
I'm really new at this, if there is no such way then just say so.

I was thinking of using the clerics plant domain spells and death domain spells to accomplish this. (ignore the fact that you can't have both domains at once, just think of this as a hypothetical question)

You could adapt the "Lord of the Scarlet Tide" adventure.
It features a Fungal Deity of sorts that animates things as zombies. Fungal zombies. With minds.
It's handled as a poison that damages Con. If you die to it, or are exposed to it after, you arise as a servant of the Scarlet Lord. You gain a template by it, allowing you to spread the infection to others by breath or natural attacks.

Dungeon Magazine #85.

has some backstory under "Lord of the Scarlet Tide".

Notes:
"Scarlet Child" is the Template gained via the fungus. It grants you a tentacle attack and a Breath Weapon given sufficient HD.
Turn Undead does nothing to the Scarlet Children.
Daylight does, however. They enter a coma and/or take damage from it, depending on the severity of the infection the have.
