| cwslyclgh04-19-04, 08:40 PM | welcome to the 51st edition of Magic item of the Week, as always I am interested in your feeb back, opinions, comments. Wes :) Bottle of Spirits These glass bottles are long, with a fluted neck (much like a wine or champagne bottle) and made of a smoky dark glass, each comes with a silver capped cork. Although they can be used to carry liquids like any other bottle any liquid placed with in quickly acquires the smell and taste of rotting meat (although there are no game effects tied to this change). The bottle true purpose can be utilized only while it is completely empty. When uncorked in the presence of an undead creature with the incorporeal subtype that creature must make a will save (DC 23) or be sucked into and trapped with in the bottle. Once inside the bottle a trapped creature cannot escape until the bottle is broken (hardness: 1, 3 hp) or the cork is removed to capture a different incorporeal undead creature. Strong necromancy, Caster Level: 17th, Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, soul bind, Market Price: 60,000 gp. Weight: 1 lb. |

You realize you could now create a series of different bottles, each of which is designed to trap a very specific [type] of soul. With a little ingenuity, a merchant could open a Little Shop of Bottled Horrors! |
| [GSV] Kirstar04-20-04, 04:08 AM | very nice item |
| cwslyclgh04-20-04, 01:48 PM | glad you liked it :) |
| Wizard04-20-04, 02:02 PM | Ghostbusters! It seems like you might be able to make a lower-level version by using an inward focused protection from evil, a lower save DC, and some anti-undead spell. Though I suppose anything you could catch with this wouldn't be worth catching... |
| Luminous Crayon04-20-04, 06:59 PM | I really, really like the slight "spirits" pun. Very clever. Great concept. I love it. Well done. |
| Seeker9504-20-04, 09:08 PM | Now about that archive... :D |
| Kyuketsukiouji04-20-04, 09:38 PM | Can you use this on a n undead you control, having it this fail the will save, and then release them from your control to be able to create more undead? Wild Spectre Grenades, anyone? |
| cwslyclgh04-21-04, 02:35 AM | yeah, it was nice the way the name came out with a sort of double meaning type thing. |
| cwslyclgh04-21-04, 07:48 PM | Originally posted by Seeker95 Now about that archive... :D erm yeah... the archive.... well last week I spent tuesday til sunday away from home. I was in mount vernon WA helping a friend who is just opening a comic book/gaming supply store catalogue his invintory... not an easy task when he had just bought 4k comics -asured of good condition but sight unseen- that he wanted to use as filler stock... so I was happily nose deep in comics (from 1978-1993) all week and didn't have time to work on the archive at all... I will try to put it together this week, as it doesn;t look like I have any pressing obligations. Wes :) |
| smrtgmp04-21-04, 08:29 PM | Very nice, although Kyut's suggestion would be an expensive one (using them as grenades, that is.) |
| Thomar_of_Uointer04-21-04, 09:00 PM | So it's like... instant energy drain touch attack if you hit someone? What do you sugguest to put in it? Shadow? Ghost? |
| smrtgmp04-21-04, 09:49 PM | A dread wraith would be a nasty surprise.:schemes: |
