It apeares that bracers of armor +4 cost
4*4*1000 = 16000
Continious effect of mage armor costs
1*1*2000 = 2000

Do i miss something?

Do i miss something?Yes. You use the chart in the DMG to determine the cost of an item, and only price it as per the spell as a last resort. In this case, the formula for permanent, continuous armor bonuses is (bonus * bonus * 2000), and it supercedes any continuous effect you could get from pricing the protection as if it were a spell.

You might discount it a bit to represent the fact that they have to be turned back on after 7 hours (like say 2%).

What about unlimited use mage armor?Technically, that falls under the category of "command-word activation" items, which is (spell level * caster level * 1800). At CL 1, it'll only cost 1800gp, and you'll have to reactivate it every hour (which means there are at least seven hours during the day in which you will be unprotected; three hours if you're an elf).

At higher caster levels (e.g., 10 or 12), this is realistically almost the same thing as a permanent bonus, since you can time the duration so that it always occurs when you are awake (and the likelihood that you'll be involved in combat at the precise moment the effect expires is extremely small). However, at that point, the item becomes as or more expensive than the equivalent continuous ring.

That's a 3.0 price, and shouldn't be used in a 3.5 campaign.

The cost is armor bonus squared x 1000gp.
