yes i know it might be a stupid question but o well.

so my plot im aiming for is the players are serial killers but they don't know it. is there a spell that is undetectable or a brainwashing thing that makes the group kill but never remember it?

all i can think of are body possessing spells or a control this person spell.

btw the person who controls them is very very very far away, so he got them early in the game and did the spell and then released them.

sorry if this makes no sense T_T

also, yes i realise you can make up a spell, im just horrible at it

So this mysterious figure is controlling the entire group, whenever he wants, and they don't remember it? That's kind of tough to do. I think you'd have to use Dominate Person, or something like that, plus Modify Memory. But having the entire group fail their saves against both reliably might be difficult, unless this puppetmaster is signifigantly more powerful than them.

A Psion might be the best candidate, since they can manifest powers through Remote Viewing. There is also a psionic version of Modify Memory. A Seer or Telepath of at least 9th level with the Expanded Knowledge feat could pull it off in theory, but in practice they'd probably have to be higher level to have enough power points to do this to an entire group.

Are you sure your players will be okay with this? I would not.

Mind Fog, Mindrape, Modify Memory, Magic Jar (while your target is sleeping), Dominate Person (monster), Permanent Domination, Monstrous Thrall, Suggestion, Striped Toadstool or Insanity Mist poisons...

I think you should also post to the Mature Boards. I'd imagine that most players prefer to role-play their characters in the fantasy world instead of the DM telling them what their characters did.

And since you're talking about serial killers, perhaps you should make the distinction between players and player characters. There is a difference between the two.
