| valbo02-05-06, 05:59 AM | hey guys i recently had a discussion with a friend if Spikes/ lvl 3 priest spell - complete divine - is having an maximum enchantment(to hit) bonus of +2 and a damage bonus of +10???? or if it has +10 enchantment (to hit) and +10 damage he told me wizards had written somewhere that the +10/+10 bonus was confirmed as this was the intention of the spell(hard to believe that) could anyone help me out on this matter? thank you |
| Bopple02-05-06, 07:56 AM | No, it's +2/+10. |
| KAVU200202-05-06, 08:06 AM | Let's assume tht a 10th level cleric casts the spell. Spikes would give a +2 enhancement bonus to hit, and a +10 UNTYPED bonus to damage. The damage bonus NOT an enhancement bonus. |

The wording on the damage bonus was cleaned up a bit in the spell compendium (overriding the Complete Divine versions, just as it changed Spikes' duration down to 1 round per level as it should be IMO). From the Spell Compendium Brambles entry..."It Gains +1 enhancement bonus on its attacks, and also gains a +1 enhancement bonus per caster level on melee damage rolls (max +10)." |
