I'm just upgrading one of my ancient characters to 3.5ed and am trying to work out what to do with the Brazen Bottle magic item. Google seems to indicate this came from "Mighty Magic Miscellany" in The Strategic Review 7, which is probably correct - the character sheet says copyright Games Workshop 1978 :D .
Basically the bottle sucks in djinnis, efreets, air elementals, etc if they fail a save. I only have skimpy notes, such as Balrogs  get a +3 on their save.
It's not quite the same as the Efreeti Bottle (although obviously has the same literary root) as it is just a portable prison and doesn't provide any control of those creatures captured.
Does anyone have the original text they could send me please, or suggestions on how to create a 3.5ed equivalent?
"Trap the Soul" for "air, extraplanar" creatures, maybe?

A Planar Binding used to call a creature with the Air subtype, cast while creating the Brazen Bottle. And it would need to be Planar Binding, Greater for any accuracy.

Good call

And a Dimensional Anchor to keep them from escaping?
The 3 strengths of Planar Binding would allow me to create a range of item strength too.

Just noticed "Iron Flask" in the DMG
(CL20, Trap the Soul, 170,000gp)
which should work as a straight swap for the OD&D Brazen Bottle.
