Hi. I've worked on spells before, but this one's the first one I've actually submitted here.

Break Mind
Enchantment (Mind-affecting)
Level: Sor/Wiz 8
Components: V,S
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Close(25 ft+5 ft/2 levels)
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes(harmless)

You implant a highly damaging nugget of knowledge inside the targets mind. This knowledge can be forbidden lore that mortal beings were not meant to know, knowledge of concepts and ideals that are anthaema to the targets psyche, or anything else sufficiently damaging. A target that fails its will save is reduced to a state of mild insanity(as the insanity spell), for one day, at which point it gets a new save to try and throw off the effects. This process repeats until the target succeeds on its save.

Roll a d10 to determine the lasting effects on the target. A 1 means the target becomes suicidal and tries to kill itself at the first opportunity. A 2-4 means that the target is permenantly haunted by what has been revealed to it, giving it a permenant -1 penalty to all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma-based checks. A 5-7 means that the target recovers, but its outlook is permenantly changed. Roll a D3 twice to determine the target's new alignment, treating results of 1 as Lawful or Good, 2 as Neutral, and 3 as Chaotic or Evil. An 8 or 9 means that the knowledge is repressed, and the target recovers fully. A 10 means that the target has embraced the knowledge, somehow managing to fully assimilate it, granting it a permenant +1 nameless bonus to all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma-based checks.

So, what do you think of it? Be honest.

An obstacle to making this spell work: How do you implant knowledge you do not possess?

Because of the link between caster and subject in this case, I would think that the forbidden knowledge / psyche damaging information is as much a threat to the caster as to the target.

Well, in dealing with most evil critters, aberrations especially, the variety of thoughts that exist within a good creature's mind are sufficiently damaging enough to fry the creature's mind, ditto with evil casters targeting good creatures.

its like throwing a rock trough a windows

only the rock is a grenade that explodes!

its save as long as you dont pull the pin!

Also deamonic langeau is instant kill for mortals?

So demons can cast it or evil beings!

Exactly. Although I may include "A page from a book of forbidden lore" as a material component if it seems necessary.
