Is it too much to have a 7th level arcane/9th level divine spell that gets a dispel check to take it out (same range as dispel, but only effective against anti magic shell spell and spell like effects, uses a caster level check like greater dispel magic, and the caster must be outside the shell to cast)? The party almost got completely sacked by a great white wyrm who put up an anti-magic shell when it was at half hit points. After that, it owned the party with a crush attack (impossible to escape from such a grapple without magic/epic characters/double 20's). Interesting storyline and it put the fear of dragons into them all once again, but there's got to be a way through it. |

Do everything possibile (illusions, transportation magic, walls of force, summons with good SR, etc) to stay away. Rely on damaging spells and capabilities that aren't affected such as summoned acid or fire, etc. If they have Prismatic Shield, they should use that...nasty to grapple someone encased in it and it can't be dispelled by Anti-Magic Field. -Drachasor |
