I want to make sure of when its fire damage takes effect:
Note, this is all for a 6th-9th level warlock, thus the fire damage only burns for 1 round.

A) if you fail the save you take damage the next round.
B) if you fail the save you take damage that turn and[ the next round.
C) if you fail the save you take damage that turn but not the next turn.

Also, when does the damage take effect, pertaining to when a character can put out the flames. If the damage is taken at the beginning of the warlock's turn the player may not get a chance to put out the flames depending on initiative.

If the damage is dealt on the victim's turn he can put out the flames before taking any damage, or is the damage applied at the BEGINNING of the victim's turn?

Or does a victim simply not get a chance to put themselves out if the flames are only going to last 1 round anyway?

:b: As I read it, it would work like this. I'll start with a qoute from the book. pg132CA "....of fire damage for 3 rounds AFTER the initial Brimstone Blast attack."

R1 Your hit and you fail the save. You only take the damage from the blast its self.
R2 (you have two choses)
(A) If you chose to take a full round action to put out the flames, you take no damage.
(B) anything else and you take damage.

IMG extra damage like this is done on the turn of the player that caused it. That way the victim can react to it. Put it out or to cast dispel for other effects.
