Damocles Sword Conjuration [Creation] Level: Cleric 5, Sor/Wiz 5 Components: V, S, M Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level) Area: see below Duration: Instantaneous, see below Saving Throw: Reflex negates or half; see below Spell Resistance: No With a wave of your hand, a gigantic sword falls from the sky, slashing and impaling everything in its way, and comes crashing on the ground. A giant sword falls from the sky into the ground. In its fall, the sword damages creatures objects in mid-air, and even more when it collides with the earth below, as it has built momentum. The sword appears 5 feet per caster level above the ground or at the ceiling, whichever is lower. The sword itself deals 1d8 points of damage per 2 caster levels, with an additional 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet fallen. The area covered by the sword on the ground, as well as the area covered when it falls, depends on the caster level: 11th or lower: 5 feet by 10 feet. 12th-14th: 10 feet by 15 feet. 15th-17th: 15 feet by 20 feet 18th-20th: 20 feet by 25 feet. Furthermore, the sword can be made of different materials and can bypass damage reduction from such a metal, chosen at the time of the casting and also depending on the caster level. 11th or lower: Steel 12th-14th: Steel or silver 15th-17th: Steel, silver or cold iron 18th-20th: Steel, silver, cold iron or adamantine Airborne creatures take only the sword’s damage and may make a Reflex save to negate it. Those on the ground take both kind of damages and may make a Reflex save to halve both the falling and the sword’s damage. Afterward, the sword disappears and leaves dense rubbles in the area. Material Component: a dagger. Stellar Beam Evocation [Light] Level: Cleric 8 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level) Effect: Cylinder (15-ft. radius, 100 ft. high) Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Reflex save Spell Resistance: Yes You call forth your deity’s name and a searing beam of light is shot from the heavens. A massive beam of light is shot from the sky and burns everything in its path. A creature struck by this beam of light takes 1d8 points of damage per two caster levels (maximum 10d8). An undead creature takes 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 20d6), and an undead creature particularly vulnerable to bright light takes 1d8 points of damage per caster level (maximum 20d8). A construct or inanimate object takes only 1d6 points of damage per two caster levels (maximum 10d6). A Reflex save halves the damage in all cases. Blade of the lost Arcanum Evocation Level: Duskblade 5 Components: V, S, F Casting Time: 1 full-round action Range: 5 feet per caster level Effect: see below Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Reflex Half Spell Resistance: No You swing your weapon in a wide arc, and you launch a crescent-shaped blade made of pure arcane energy. You launch a blade of eldritch energy as you swing your weapon. The blade travels in a line equal to 5 feet per caster level and widens at every inch it travels, reaching 5 feet in length per caster level at the end of the line; the blade is roughly 2 feet high. Anything hit by the blade takes 1d8 points of damage per caster level, and may make a Reflex save to halve the damage. Focus: A weapon that you swing. Gravity Orb Evocation/Transmutation Level: Drd 5, Sor/Wiz 4 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level) Effect: One orb of gravitational force Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Fortitude half (object) Spell Resistance: No You shoot from your hand a small orb of pulsing, black and violet, electricity at your opponent, which feels as if its body was crushed and attracted to the orb. You create a globe of contained gravity force 5 inches in diameter, which you launch at your target. You must succeed a ranged touch attack, and the orb deals 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 10d6). A Fortitude save halves the damage. You may also target up to a 5-foot cube of nonliving matter. Gravity Press Transmutation Level: Drd 8, Sor/Wiz 7 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level) Area: 20-foot radius spread Duration: Concentration, up to 1 round/level Saving Throw: Reflex negates, Fortitude half (object) Spell Resistance: No You gradually increase the gravity on a specific area, slowly crushing those caught in the blast. You cause the gravity in the area to increase, slowly crushing enemies as if a something was pressing on them. Upon casting the spell, anyone in the area must make a Reflex save or be knocked prone. Flying creatures fall on the ground, taking falling damage. Furthermore, every creature takes 1d6 points of damage as the gravity pulls them. Every round after this one, every creature takes an additional 1d6 points of damage (1d6 the 1st round, 2d6 the 2nd round, 3d6 the 3rd round, etc…); a Fortitude save halves the damage each time. In order to move or attack, as well as standing prone, the target must make a Strength check for each action. Thus, a target who wants to stand from prone must make one check, while a target who wants to make a double move must make two checks, and a target who wants to make a full attack must make a check for each attack. The DC is equal to the spell DC plus 1 for each round that have passed during the spell. Failing a single check knocks the target prone. Creatures entering the area must make a Reflex save equal to the Strength check and suffer the damage as if they were in the spell area since the beginning, as the gravity affects the area as a whole, not for individual creatures. Only you, the caster, is immune to the spell effect. Gravity Line Transmutation Level: Drd 9, Sor/Wiz 8 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level) Area: Line Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Reflex negates, or half (see below) (object) Spell Resistance: No You change the gravity at certain areas, which make creatures lose their footing. You change the gravity’s direction in a line of effect, selecting any direction you wish. The line is 10 feet long per caster level. Anyone in the line must make a Reflex save or “fall” in the chosen direction. Those who make their save may step away from the line. If the line is parallel to the ground, the target takes “falling” damage equal to 1d6 per 10 feet travelled at the end of the line; a Reflex save halves the damage. If the line goes upward or if the target is in mid-air and the line goes downward, the target takes normal falling. If the line goes downward and if the target is on the ground, the target falls prone if it fails its Reflex save. If the target hits an obstacle, both the object and the target take 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet travelled. If the obstacle breaks the target continue along the line, taking damage per 10 feet travelled from the point it failed its Reflex save. So what do you think ? feel free to post your comments. |

| sigma99902-13-07, 08:27 PM | If you were a DM, and I a Sorcerer, I guarantee you I'd cast "Damocles Sword" for everything. In place of, say.. Charm Person : "Do as I say or your house is impaled" Magic Missile at the darkness : "Which direction do I aim?" Heal : "I'll grind him into paste and you ress him, k? They'll get their HP back." It would be my only spell. Now, would that be too much? |
