I have a question, or rather, we have a question. I'm playing an exalted campaign using the BoED, and we have a problem with the spell calm emotions. Does it calm all emotions, be they positive or negative, or can you choose it? I base this question on the fact that the spell description says
you can stop agressive creatures from attacking OR joyous ones from reveling

This can ofcourse be read in 2 ways (either a choice, or but 2 examples of the spells powers), but the the description on pacifying touch (an Apostle of Peace class ability) says it specifically stops only negative/aggresive emotions. Does this mean that you have a choice when casting calm emotions or that the pacifying touch ability(which works similar to calm emotions) is significantly different, in which case i would suggest that there should be 2 versions of this spell..

any ideas (or RAW)????

It is an emotional lobotomy.

I agree with Seeker95. It is non-selective.
