ok, basicly I have a dwarven fighter/rogue that refuses to practice sneaking around quietly, he likes his armor and stuff.. so I am trying to get a masterwork ring enchanted with silence and then permancy to make it a ring od silence.. so he can pull it out of a bag of holding and then sneak around in perfect silence..and when he's done he can put it away..

now can this be done?

was also thinking about having darkness cast on a nother ring and putting a piece of string on it so I could walk at the very edge of the darkness spell and see and then step back into the darkenss if needed.. so say 20' radius darkness so I'd have 18' string with the rin on it..at arm's length, and be able to put it away in a bag og holding..

Talk to your DM about how to make it, but wouldn't you be deafened when wearing the silence ring, and blind when wearing the darkness ring?

The ring won't work on the string. It also wouldn't be too useful--people would see the darkness moving and know something's coming.

The other ring is certainly possible but remember that the silence affects you also--you can't hear your allies.

A ring of silence is simple.
2nd level spell.
2 x 3 x 2000gp = 12,000gp

Rings have no affinity, so there is no "non-affinity price adjustment.

well my dwarf doesn't listen to the elf in the party( too many times being shot in the back by critical fumbles) one more and dead elf..

He's our shock trooper so charging in being silent won't bother him, get in close and silence the mages..(which now they all will have silent spell feat..) blind fighting would help with the darkness..by the spell discription the ring on a string would work, spell cast on the ring and then 18' of string and at arm's length puts the dwarf outside the darkness.... fear the dwarf faced silent darkness!!

and in both cases he can put the rings in his bag of holding and it blocks both effects..til he needs to sneak or hide..

Unless you are making the spells permanent on a normal everyday mundane ring. I wouldn't do this.

well depends on how the silence ring is made..if its just the spell cast on it then its always on, even if I put it in a pocket..but in a B of H its silenced.. DM says we're gonna have to have the party wizard research and custom a silence and perm spell for what I want..

Except for the fact that the DM is always right, the DM is wrong on this one.

Magic item creation rules make "an item that does what a spell does" the most basic of creation tasks. S/He's trying to make it difficult. The only real obstacle is that Forge Ring is a pretty high level requirement, so you're probably going to have to go shopping for someone willing to make it for you.
